A male technical member in the Zimbabwe Women's Football Team has been accused of sexually harassing female members in the set up.
The allegations have led to serious concerns over the mental well being of the affected females.
It is reported that the male staffer started with inappropriate invitations to his room to the females and escalated to asking for sexual favours.
It is also said that he tapped one of the females on her behind.
The national team is currently in South Africa taking part in the COSAFA tournament.
“ We have always said that only female coaches should be in the technical setup, this is why,” a whistleblower in Harare said.
“We do not want any protection of perpetrators. The victims need to be protected. This is a matter that should never be swept under the carpet. The victims are traumatised.”
“If he is doing that to the technical team members are the players safe?”
Efforts to get a comment before going to print were futile.
A female member of the technical team is said to have left one of the technical meetings in tears after being verbally harrased and degraded in front of everyone.
